Dear Friends,
During these ten days between the Ascension and Pentecost the church around the world is encouraged to imitate the example set by the contemporary followers of our savior and gather together in prayer. They were patiently expectant for the Holy spirit to empower them to be faithful witnesses in their charitable manner of life and courageous witness to the peace and love of God given to them through the Incarnation.
We continue on that same foundation. We pray especially this weekend for the church around the world and in our city, in every denomination and congregation, to live in charity and witness with power to the unconditional grace and love revealed through the life, passion, resurrection and Ascension of Jesus. We pray for graduating Cadets and W&L Law graduates and all those who are entering into new stages of life.
We pray for violence to cease around the world and for people everywhere to know the love of God and live in the light of God's grace and truth.
And in the midst of violence, discord, poverty, despair, grief, and loneliness we pray the servant church shines light, brings comfort, bonds up the wounded and broken hearted, and restores hope.
In the name of the one who stood up and gave himself for us and who lives and reigns with the Father and the Spirit.
With Gratitude,
Tuck Bowerfind (he/him)

Call for Volunteers
Volunteers Needed: We currently have two paid nursery aides to provide childcare on Sunday during both the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Because the DIOSWVA requires two adults over 18 years of age for the nursery, the service cannot be provided if one is out. We are asking for volunteers to be available on an as needed basis. Training on the program "Protecting God's Children" is required. Please contact Lisa if you are interested in volunteering or contact James Keane with questions about the program.
Ducks in a Row
